Introduction
Fungus can invade any part of the human body including even the mouth, throat, esophagus, lungs, bladder, or skin and Ketoconazole is an antifungal, antibiotic used to treat infections caused by these fungi and yeasts. The medication is a powder having a white to slightly beige color. It is odorless and is freely soluble in acids. It is available in form of tablets for oral administration under the brand name Generic Nizoral. Each Generic Nizoral tablet contains 200 mg Ketoconazole along with other inactive ingredients like colloidal silicon dioxide, corn starch, lactose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, and povidone.
Indications
Generic Nizoral tablets are indicated for the treatment of patients suffering from severe recalcitrant cutaneous dermatophyte infections and have shown no response to topical therapy or oral Griseofulvin. It is also recommended for individuals who are not able to take Griseofulvin.
Dosage
The dosages of these Nizoral tablets should be as prescribed by your doctor, or you should refer to the dosage prescribed on the medicine strip.
The normal dosage of Ketoconazole for adults is one dose or tablet of 200 mg per day. It is recommended to be taken with food. Only in very serious conditions
